Today’s society is about to change. There is a demand for values that describe only a small subset of new ideas as “fair, sustainable and climate-friendly”. However, these value expectations pose massive challenges for industrial companies because they have no data on fair, sustainable or climate-friendly production. Since the existence of the manufacturing industry, values have always been “faster, better and cheaper”. It is precisely this transformation for manufacturing companies that senseering (SE) wants to solve. With the vision of a machine economy, machines and devices will be networked worldwide in the future in a simple, secure and stable manner; data, information and knowledge will be exchanged in encrypted form and exploited by means of AI. AI as a language between humans and machines, not as a job killer. How else will humans talk to machines? And then new value propositions are also possible, as a supplement to existing business and for society.


SE’s solution is a platform. The MyDataEconomy platform, a kind of virtual marketplace for machine data, digital twins and data-based AI solutions. With one click of the mouse, users have access to the worldwide data of participating companies. Participating companies in turn have access to the worldwide AI competence of experts at the click of a mouse. Together, companies and AI experts analyze data and develop unprecedented solutions that improve companies’ production problems. Various business models are being used to provide incentives to companies and experts alike, e.g. pay per data or subscription. To facilitate the entry into the marketplace, senseering offers an optional data acquisition box with many interfaces, the SE EdgeBox, as well as software running on the EdgeBox, the SE AI Manager. Thus, even older companies can participate in a Machine Economy via Plug’n’Play.

How much does your idea differ from existing solutions? What do you do better?

One of our customers once described the MyDataEconomy platform as “Google for machine data”: Per click of a mouse, AI experts or companies can find what they need. It is the core competence of SE to know what the seekers are looking for and to orchestrate the architecture behind it. We believe that our architecture can be the key to the breakthrough of our platform. Our hybrid edge-cloud blockchain approach allows the most secure sharing of information with third parties at the current state of the art, while maintaining the data always with the data originator, unless he wants it otherwise. This creates a trustworthy ecosystem that provides real added value to bidders and seekers. And we do this better than others: SE empowers data creators and data analysts.

What does qualify your team and how is the structure of your team? 

The team structure consists of two founders: Dr. Daniel Trauth and Dr. Patrick Mattfeld. Both have a doctorate mechanical engineer with additional studies in the field of business administration and further education in computer science. The core team also includes full-time employees Felix Mönckemeyer (Computer Science), Kristof Herrmann (Mathematics) and Nils von Ouwerkerk (Mathematics). We five are the drivers and innovators of the Machine Economy and a non-depleting source of energy and inspiration. There is no blueprint for what we do, no competitive product to study or from which to copy. We are supported by 7 further part-time employees: Mona Eden (Design), Semjon Becker (Design), Andreas Feuerhack (Sales), Philipp Niemietz (Data Science), Henric Breuer (Scrum), Joachim Stanke (IT Architecture) and Trutz Wrobel (Business Development).


The manufacturing industry finally needs a digital success model. Everyone is talking about digital champions. But in international competition, SAP is the last national representative to do anything close to production. No one can say yet whether SE will hold out long enough. But SE will inspire and motivate others. And together we will succeed.
